Office of Commercialisation

The Office of Commercialisation (OoC) represents and services Local Health District (LHD), clinicians, researchers, nurses, students, administrators and professional, technical and manual service providers of all types, in all Intellectual Property (IP) matters. Our purpose is multi-faceted and is to build an IP culture, and to capture, risk manage, and to transfer, innovation and knowledge which is capable of generating an income, improving patient care and improving the perception that LHD is a “smart health environment”. We tailor our services uniquely to the LHD landscape, under a specialised model not possible for non-LHD focussed entities; through operations that cater for the LHD’s unique facility geography; funding, budgetary and economy-of-scale conformities; disparate scope and type of innovations; complexity of governance and of partnerships; and the prerequisite for independence from conflicts-of-interest due to joint ownerships. We execute this strategy to achieve a totality of innovation and knowledge protection and transfer for LHD, unmatchable by any other service provider under the conditions.
